What is a Render Compute Unit (RCU)?
To make it easy to compare CPU capacity between different render slave types we have defined a Render Compute Unit. This provides a relative measure of the integer processing power of each slave type, based on real work rendering benchmarks.
What do you use to manage your render farm?
Our farm is controlled through Thinkbox’s Deadline software. We’ve been running this for many years and actively participate in their beta development process. Check them out here.
What network infrastructure do you have?
The backbone of our farm is a 10gbit/s fibre backbone for storage, management and top-of-rack switching; branching to 1gbit/s per render slave.
